28 Oct Mindset Mastery: Creating Confidence
I remember waiting for the perfect conditions to leave my job and launch my own practice and week after week, month after month the perfect conditions never happened. It took one day, when one of my favorite patients came in for HER appointment and said, ‘Angel, I think you need a change’ that I finally realized — this is NOT how I want to show up in my life. That encounter is what taught me how to make decisions in the midst of chaos, change, and uncertainty and this week I want to share that with you.
You see, certainty is a mirage. We are all wired to crave sunshine and clear skies. Who doesn’t love a crystal-clear day when you can see all the way to the horizon and life feels so certain? But just as we’re wired for clear skies, we’re also wired to think in clouded, constricted, black-and-white terms. That’s why, when faced with uncertainty, we often experience the crippling anxiety and decision fatigue that lands us in an emotional rut.
I know you’ve heard the saying ‘Yes to one thing is automatically a No to something else.’ I used to believe that too until I realized that my life has never been that extreme nor that black and white. My life has been filled with twists, turns, and curveballs that caused me to pull out my eraser and change my course. I’m willing to bet yours has been too.
I’ve learned that confidence isn’t something we find. Confidence is something we create.
To get unstuck and feel more confident in the midst of uncertainty you have to remember that you’re never as stuck as you think you are.
It’s about remembering that being stalled, simply because you haven’t made a decision, is not the same as being stuck. It’s about letting go of the ‘either/or’ thinking, which can indeed be helpful sometimes, but misses the bigger picture of creativity and more satisfying solutions that are always found along the way.
What I want you to remember this week is that confidence comes from making decisions that teach you more about who you really are. Confidence doesn’t come from certainty, it comes from courage.
I believe your next chapter isn’t waiting for you to find clarity. It’s waiting for you to find courage.

- Next, reflect: If you were to learn how to make more confident decisions even in the midst of chaos, change, and uncertainty, what direct impact could that have on your health, relationships, or well-being? What would be possible for you and how would it change your life?
