Mindset Mastery: The 3 C’s of Life

Mindset Mastery: The 3 C’s of Life

Hello friend,

Last Thursday one of my patients who I haven’t seen in over a year came in for her annual physical. Given all that we’ve been through with the global pandemic, I was grateful to see her name on the schedule. As I reviewed her chart to get ready for her appointment, I made a mental note about the gut health test she’d asked about and pulled a sample test kit from the closet to share. All geared up and ready I sat and waited but when I walked into the exam room I could hardly believe my eyes. She was not the same woman I’d seen in my exam room before.

Sam* was 50lbs lighter and she looked happier than I had ever seen her before. “Dr. Angel, I think it finally set in. It was like one day I just woke up and said I don’t want to feel like this anymore.”

What Sam admitted to me was years of hopelessness and depression that no amount of medication could help. Though she’d seen countless therapists and had invested thousands of dollars in weight loss programs and personal trainers, nothing actually worked. Binge-eating comfort foods to overcome the bouts of sadness had led to gut-related symptoms which only led to worsening insomnia, anxiety, and depression.

“It was a quote I saw in one of your newsletters, actually. It was about choices. I realized that a lot of what I was going through in my life was because of the people around me. Taking on everybody else’s problems and all of it just pulling me down … all of that was my choices,” she said. “You know that saying, if you’re not changing it, you’re choosing it? That’s where I am. Well, I’m choosing me.”

What I hope you will remember this week is that life gives us choices and chances to change our lives. Whatever we are not changing, we are are choosing.

If you’re tired of people taking advantage of your time and not respecting your boundaries, you can change it.

If you’re frustrated and know that your health is taking a beating on the back burner, you can change it.

If you’re stuck in a pattern of barely surviving but not thriving, you can change it.

Because the only person who is responsible for making this one life your best life is you.

I created a new workbook, My Year In Review, just for you.

It’s designed to help you take a look back over the past year to honestly reflect on what really worked for you and what didn’t. It’s designed to help you get clear on what you truly desire in your life and create a solid, no-holds-barred, kick-ass plan of action to start pursuing it. Most importantly, it’s designed to help you embody the confidence you need, deep down in your heart and soul, to finally make new choices for your life.

Life is precious and life is short, friend.

Time to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who are saying “No” to health on the back burner.

Time to release the shackles of guilt and responsibility for things you aren’t responsible for.

Time to grow and thrive and turn your vision for a happier, healthier life into reality.

Time to experience what life can feel like when you start making choices that align with your highest good.

Let’s start making those choices NOW and if you need support, come on and join me in the The Seva Circle to make 2024 your best year yet.

Wishing you an amazing week friend,

Be well. Be love(d). Be good to yourself,
