Mindset Mastery: Don’t change a thing.

Mindset Mastery: Don't change a thing.

Mindset Mastery: Don’t change a thing.

Do you mind if I ask you a question? If you could wave a magic wand and change just one thing about your life what would it be? Would you have married someone different? Chosen a different career? Lived in another country?

I’ll bet you feel that way because your road in life has not been easy. So many ups and downs. So many things that just didn’t pan out the way you thought they would. Maybe something you’re still working so hard to achieve that feels like it’s never going to happen for you.

I used to think that had I followed my dream and moved to another country my life would be so much different than it is now. I would spend hours day-dreaming about the cottage I would have lived in, the sound of the waves breaking on the shoreline outside my window at dawn…until I realized that if I could change anything it would change everything.

It would change the overwhelming sense of joy I had when my children were born and placed safely in my arms.

It would erase the lesson of gratitude that I learned when my husband opened his beautiful eyes again after open heart surgery.

And it would mean that this moment here – writing this note of encouragement to you – would simply not exist.

What’s important for you now, my friend, is to simply remember that every small grain of sand contributes to the castle of life that you are building. Changing one thing changes everything.

When we can’t find answers to life’s biggest questions, especially those that are filled with frustration and messiness, we can always find meaning.

This week, it would be amazing if you could just carve out a little time for yourself to think about how many times one thing ended so that something new and beautiful could begin.

It would great if you could just set a reminder to pause at midday, take a breath, and remember the view from the highest mountains you’ve climbed in your life and what it felt like when you finally got there.

Write these thoughts down in your journal so you can remember that there’s a reason your heart has guided you to where you are right now. There’s nothing you need to regret or change about your past because right now you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

In the meantime, if having a bit of community connection and support for these emotional hurdles feels right for you, I’d love to see you in the Seva Circle.
