22 Jan Mindset Mastery: Stay The Course
|
Hello friend,
We are entering week three of a brand new year and, just as critics predict, I am already seeing clear signs of ‘giving up.’ What’s interesting though is that they’re not the usual glaring STOP signs you’d think they are. They’re a bit more insidious and that’s what I want to share with you this week so that you’re not part of the Quiet Quitting crowd.
Our minds are exquisite creations, hard-wired for pleasure, comfort, and convenience. Shortly after conception our brains get busy, growing at the rate of about 250,000 nerve cells per minute, on average, ultimately forming more than 100 billion neurons that are the normal complement of a newborn baby’s brain. Miracle that it is, we enter the world with the most important piece of equipment we need to reach our full human potential.
|
With careful attention and continual nurturing, our minds can become our very best friends, connecting us to our intuition, our courage, and clarity in our life’s purpose. We can do amazing things when our minds are uncluttered and we meet life with an unwavering commitment to our vision.
But the opposite is also true. Our minds can be our worst enemies, causing us to hop down different trails, change course, or give up altogether when times get tough and circumstances feel difficult. Like the garden covered with snow in winter that looks like it has nothing growing at all, our lives can appear the same – like nothing is growing, nothing is happening, and that it’s time to throw in the towel. We forget all about the fact that there’s a season called Spring.
“Well, I tried…”
“Well, it really doesn’t align with my vision anyway…”
“Well, I can always come back to this when I get more time…”
With enough wavering we can talk ourselves out of practically anything.
|
Angel, I need help with this. Can we get on a call? |
What I hope you will remember this week is that patience is the key that unlocks the door to your dreams. When you stay the course and embody an unwavering commitment to a single vision, you unlock the greatest form of your human potential.
If it’s weight that you’re trying to lose this year – stop wavering, stay the course.
If it’s a cleaner, healthier diet that you want this year – stop wavering, stay the course.
If it’s a business you’re trying to get off the ground this year – stop wavering, stay the course.
Because changing ONE thing, changes everything that follows.
Because when you reach your goal, it won’t matter how long it took you to get there. You’ll just be grateful that you kept going and never quit, and you’ll be so proud of the person you became in the process.

For Your Practice:
If you are tired of the emotional stress and true lack of progress that comes from the wavering, doubt, and indecision in your life, here are a few journal prompts to get you started:
- What are the specific situations or decisions that trigger self-doubt or wavering thoughts? Describe them in detail.
- Explore the origins of your self-doubt. Are there past experiences or influences that contribute to your lack of confidence?
- How often does perfectionism creep up for you? Do you often find yourself wanting your life to unfold in a specific way and giving up on your goals when it doesn’t?
- Describe a positive affirmation or mantra that resonates with you. How can you incorporate this affirmation into your daily routine?
Remember that when it comes to your personal journal practice you don’t need perfect sentences nor perfect punctuation. You can scribble, erase, cross out and be as messy as you’d like. Your journal is for you.
And if it either of these journal prompts still feel hard just click REPLY and say “Angel, I need support with this” and I’ll send you my calendar link to schedule a call.
I’d love to see this year be the year you design the life you deserve.
Wishing you an amazing week friend,
Be well. Be love(d). Be good to yourself,
