14 Sep Past, Present and Future: Community Gardens Connect Seniors to Fresh Food and to Their Pasts
We love innovative ideas and were happy to find out about Melissa Miller, manager of Common Good City Farm in Washington, D.C.. Melissa had a great idea on how to improve nutrition and also transform seniors’ relationships to food. She created a program that improves senior citizens’ access to fresher produce, gives them a chance to exercise, fosters a sense of community, and just improve overall physical health. Like many innovaters, Melissa had no idea that it would also bring back many beautiful memories.
